About Us
Unity of First People of Australia (UFPA) is a Not-for-Profit organisation created as a means by which the contribution of Indigenous Australians can grow and flourish.
UFPA was established with a focus of creating solutions on the key issues of employment, education, health, preserving culture, community justice and economic development. In the first phase of operations, particular attention was directed to programs around opportunities that had been identified by a very determined and committed group of workers and founding members, and to increase the capacity of the workforce and the career paths of program participants. Within the UFPA there exists a unique set of skills and networks serving to promote creative solutions for many of the issues faced by Indigenous people.

Service of the UFPA
There are four key groups that are served by the UFPA’s services through the application of its programs and solutions. They include:
Industry and private sector organisations;
Government departments interested in supporting solutions for Indigenous communities (such as the WA Police Service);
Most importantly Indigenous people of Australia who stand to benefit individually and collectively as a community; and
Health improvement (related to Diabetes) in Indigenous people in Australia.

UFPA has a 25-year track record of engagement and involvement with Indigenous communities within Australia and has successfully developed and implemented major programs addressing Indigenous disadvantage. Some of these areas include Social Justice and Health Schemes.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture is a key part of Australia’s national identity and as a nation we must be vigilant in preserving the knowledge and wisdom of the world’s oldest continuous culture.
UFPA has a long and successful history of delivering programs that improve the quality of life and potential for economic development among Aboriginal people. Ernie Bridge's vision was for Australia’s First People to unite in order to learn from one another and lead the way in addressing the challenges they face. The work of UFPA is a living testimony to the power of that vision.
